According to developing science and technology, one of the demands for machine tool is high speed machining(HSM). To perform HSM ,both high feedrate and high spindle speed are nacessary.
As feedrate is increasing, the motion accuracy of feed drive system is deteriorated. Due to this, machining accuracy in high feedrate is spoiled too. So to keep machining accuracy in high feedrate, it is important to study on the motion accuracy in high feedrate.
This paper deals with motion accuracy in high feedrate. In order to study motion accuracy in high feedrate, at first motion error is measured with feedrate change using Double Ball Bar(DBB). Then modeled the feed drive system considering the origin of major error on the base of measuring results. For the model, simulate using Matlab with Simulink. Through simulation, find the mechanism of error and reason why magnitude of error is increasing in high feedrate. And analize the effect of cutting force and various controller gain or mechanical parameter on motion accuracy.
Finally propose the maximum feedrate of machine tool in satisfying given motion accuracy.
