We need to introduce Advanced Intelligent Network(AIN) architectures to efficiently realize the emerging third generation mobile communication systems including Future Public Land Mobile Telecommunication Systems(FPLMTS). However, most studies have focused on the qualitative analysis of AIN architectures supporting mobile communication networks.
In this paper, we introduce five AIN architectures to support location updates as well as mobile call procedures such as call origination, call termination, call release and handoff. And we evaluate the performance of the introduced five networks in terms of signaling load, processing load and processing delay. These results can be utilized in the implementation of AIN based FPLMTS.
