Nowadays, fossil power plants are more responsible for dealing with the load variations, and more effective controllers are required. In applying new control method to power plants, the need for simulators arises. There was a study on simulation system, process control system, and process control language. In this paper, a real time simulation module and simulation environment were considered to replace for the conventional simulation system used in power plant process control system. In real time simulation area, two problems-accuracy and short computation time-should be solved simultaneously. So, as a new simulation module, I proposed a DSP module designed to fit for power plant process control system. This new simulation module will be used as a part of the conventional process control system, but this DSP module doesn't have its own O/S. So, I proposed a real time operation environment considering task scheduling. I also extended the conventional process control language to cope with nonlinear differential equations and partial differential equations appeared in power plant dynamic equations.
