As the mobile teletraffic demands increase dramatically, interest in the cellular system with the hierarchical structure has emerged. The hierarchical cellular system can provide high system capacity, efficient channel utilization, and inherent load-balancing capability. In the hierarchical system, the blocked calls rejected in a microcell are overflowed to an overlaying macrocell. Whereas, in the case that the overflowed calls in a macrocell could not be returned to a microcell, the channels of macrocell would be exhausted by overflowed calls. Thus we propose the hierarchical cellular system with the underflow scheme, which permits the overflowed calls to return to microcells. In this paper, we model the underflow traffic and analyze the system performance.
To manage mobile users having different mobility in the hierarchical cellular system, it is assumed that the low mobility users are dedicated to microcells and the high mobility users are dedicated to macrocells. We take into consideration the multiple high mobility users who are served in one vehicle at the same time and analyze the macrocell-to-macrocell handoffs of the multiple calls for the high mobility users.
이동 통신의 사용 요구가 급격히 늘어남에 따라 계층구조를 갖는 셀룰러 시스템에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 계층구조 셀룰러 시스템은 높은 시스템 용량과 효율적인 채널 사용, 그리고 부하를 분배하는 기능까지 제공한다. 계층구조 시스템에서는 마이크로셀에서 거부된 호가 겹쳐진 매크로셀로 오버플로우된다. 하지만 오버플로우된 호가 마이크로셀로 되돌아오지 못한다면 매크로셀의 채널은 오버플로우된 호에 의해 고갈될 것이다. 따라서 우리는 underflow scheme을 갖는 계층구조 셀룰러 시스템을 제안한다. underflow scheme은 매크로셀에서 오버플로우된 호가 마이크로셀로 되돌아 가도록 허용하는 시스템이다. 이 논문에서 우리는 underflow traffic을 모델링하여 시스템 성능을 분석한다.
계층구조 셀룰러 시스템에서 각기 다른 이동성을 갖는 사용자를 관리하기 위해 저속도의 사용자는 마이크로셀에서 서비스하고 고속도의 사용자는 매크로셀에서 서비스한다. 우리는 하나의 차량에서 동시에 서비스 받는 고속도의 사용자를 고려하여 고속도 사용자의 멀티플 핸드오프를 분석한다.
