As the industry has been developed, the scope of products broadened. Also, the taste and needs of consumer who purchases products becomes more and more complex and the rapidity in the design process is regarded as a important factor. Therefore, in order to gain the competitive edge in product development competion, we should provide with products which meet the needs of consumers with moderate price. So, this thesis aim to present the design process, which can reflect the taste and needs of consumer, produce rapidly and massively, and provided at moderate price. At first, to reflect the taste and needs of consumer, this study reviewed the environments of product design development as well as physical characteristics of product itself. To do this, the product attributes are divided into five factors - instrumental, symbolic, environmental, technical, aesthetic product attributes -, and the environment of product development are divided into seven categories - product status, product lifecycle, technological level, system scope, business subcycle, product newness, product development type - and studied each specific attribute. In this thesis seven categories are called classification criterion of product. At each specific attribute, databases which are about the effects on design process are built. Subsequently, for mass production and rapid supply of product distribution, tasks which suitable to product development environment are coupled among the design tasks. Like this, Relation database deal with the relation of tasks in particular product development environment. Relation database is consisted what task should coupled or emphasize by specific attribute of product. This can make the design process more rapidly. 'Partitioning - algorithm' can decide the order of tasks in the design process. To solve this problem , DSM(Design Structure Matrix) is used. According to classification criterion of product, Characteristic database is structured. It can give a weight to the phase of design process. And to understand the character of each task, Task database is built. To realize flexible design process, computer program is made. Through this program, as far as you understand the product attribute which you wish to develope, you will find the kind of task, the number of task, important task which coupled or emphasize, the phase which is weighted in the design process, and the order of task in the whole design process. Besides, this program enables product developers to communicate each other. As a result, product development is realized with rapidity and consistency
