The biohealth industry is gaining attention as a next-generation growth engine, receiving concentrated national support. Particularly, after the COVID-19 pandemic, the significance of national health, safety, and the establishment of health security has emerged, resulting in an increased focus on government biohealth R&D policies. This study aimed to investigate the potential application of social network analysis as a scientific and objective evidence to facilitate swift and effective policy decisions. Through an analysis of collaborative patterns among nations and both domestic and international institutions engaged in South Korea's biohealth R&D sector over the last five years, this study identified the most influential countries and institutions capable of serving as pivotal hubs for international collaborative research. Furthermore, institutions with affiliated hospitals are actively engaged in leading research activities at the core of the network.
바이오헬스 산업은 차세대 신성장 동력으로 주목받으며 국가적 지원이 집중되고 있는 분야이다. 특히 코로나19 팬데믹 이후 국민의 건강과 안전, 보건 안보 확립의 중요성이 커지며 국가 바이오헬스 R&D 정책에 대한 관심이 나날이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구는 신속하고 효과적인 정책 결정을 내리기 위한 과학적이며 객관적인 근거로서 소셜 네트워크 분석의 활용 가능성을 모색했다. 최근 5년 간 우리나라 바이오헬스 R&D에 참여하고 있는 국가, 국내외 기관의 협력 동향을 분석한 결과, 가장 영향력 있는 국가 및 국제 공동 연구의 거점이 될 수 있는 기관을 확인했으며, 우리나라에서는 병원을 보유하고 있는 기관이 네트워크의 중심에서 가장 활발한 연구를 진행하고 있었다.
