In this study, a two-dimensional ventilated supercavitation experiment was conducted. A flat plate moved at a constant speed near the free surface in a still fluid. Beneath the moving plate and near the leading edge, a rectangular cavitator was perpendicularly attached, and compressed air was injected behind the cavitator. The relevant dimensionless numbers were the Froude number, air entrainment coefficient, and cavitation number. The cavitation number was determined by the Froude number and air entrainment coefficient. In the experiment, as the Froude number and the air entrainment coefficient increased, the cavitation number decreased. Additionally, as the Froude number decreased and the air entrainment coefficient increased, the drag coefficient increased. The cavity shape was compared with the re-entrant jet model, neglecting gravitational and free surface effects. As a result, the shape did not match with the model, although there was a tendency for the front part of the cavity to show some agreement. With an increase in the Froude number, the front part of the cavity tended to coincide.
