We present a new modeling method using dynamic Markov model which was originally presented by Cormack for data compression. Dynamic Markov model has many advantages over Markov chain, which made us decide to apply dynamic Markov model to new problem. We applied dynamic Markov model to DNA quality control problem. DNA sequence is a linear string composed of 4 different letters and it encodes the information necessary for a living organism. Many attempts have been done for modeling DNA sequence using various methods, such as Markov chain, hidden Markov model, linguistic approaches, and so on. We got successful results of DNA sequence modeling itself and the application to quality control for large scale sequencing project, which verifies the application of dynamic Markov model to other fields.
