Two dimensional complex, $[K_2{Mn(malonate)_2}(H_2O)_2]_n$, (3) was isolated and characterized by spectroscopic, magnetic, elemental analysis and X-ray single crystallographic method. The compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca with a unit cell of dimensions a=7.4627(4)Å, b=9.4394(10)Å, c=17.4570(15)Å. The solved structure was refined to a conventional discrepancy factor of R=0.0231 for 945 independent reflections. Each layer of stacked sheets is separated from the next one by intervening potassium ion and water molecules. Magnetic susceptibility of Mn(II) complex was measured down to 5K and a weak antiferromagnetic coupling was observed.$(J=-1.49cm^{-1}$)
Vanadyl complexes$(1,2;Q_1=K^+, Q_2=PPN^+)$ with a dicarboxylate ligand, $[(EtS)_2C=C(CO_2)_2]^{2-}(EMM^{2-})$ were synthesized and characterized by I.R., EPR, EDX and magnetic balance experiment.
