At the modern war, information system is the core of military power and key of victory. However the present components of information system of Army has lack of availability and cohesion and simple support level by the view of logistics support behavior.
Thus, we have to build CALS for technology-intensive, scientific and informed Army. CALS is a joint initiative of DOD and the defense industry that promotes a transition from paper-intensive acquisition and logistic support to an integrated and paperless process based on telecommunication technology. And its goal is to equip all contractor documentation-proposals, technical and maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, parts description, and so forth-available to all users in digital form.
The positive participation of top commander, recognition diffusion through the Army and effective planning process are the important elements for CALS as managerial strategy of Army. Stagic CALS implementation policy, making components & education(training policy, application of weapon system will be carried out. Above all, business process redesign and security policy should be background for successful implementation of CALS.
The objectives of research for active response at the future military environment are, firstly, to integrate existing researches of the CALS and strategic information system, and secondly, to draw the strategic information technology for Army from the Porter's principle, to propose the CALS building steps and to present developed plan related to the Defense Network , LAMIS.
