Alzheimer’s disease (AD), one of the representative neurodegenerative disorders, is the most common form of dementia. Various clinical trials were conducted to treat AD for the last 110 years. Nevertheless, AD is still recognized as an incurable illness. The main reason why AD has been a challenge for the medical community is that multiple pathological factors contribute to the onset and progression. In this thesis, we seek new chemical methods to suppress pathogenic elements in AD with computational and experimental approaches.
알츠하이머병은 다양한 치매 유형 중 가장 큰 영역을 차지하는 대표적인 신경퇴행질환의 하나로서, 110여년간 마땅한 치료법이 없는 불치병으로 여겨지고 있다. 알츠하이머병을 치료하려는 노력들이 실패한 가장 큰 원인으로는 알츠하이머병을 일으키는 병리학적 요인이 아직 명확하게 하나로 정의되지 않았고 복합적이기 때문이다. 본 학위논문에서는 알츠하이머병을 유발하는 다양한 인자들을 조절하고 통제하는 방법에 대해 고찰하며 계산적, 실험적인 접근을 통해 알츠하이머병 증세 완화에 다가가고자 한다.
