This dissertation proposes a method to predict the destruction pattern of geological materials
caused by underground explosions of high explosive and to estimate the amount of explosives
required to suppress underground facilities buried within specific geological materials, in the
concept design stage of warhead development. The research on such destructive patterns
requires significant financial and time costs, and experimental studies need to be verified. In
addition, although the technique of predicting destruction based on the material properties of
geological materials has developed significantly, there is a lack of experimental methods to
predict destruction due to the detonation of explosives in geological materials. Therefore, as a
starting point for related research, this dissertation proposes and verifies a predictive technique
for the destructive patterns of underground materials in geological materials. First, limestone
and granite, which are suitable for the geological characteristics of the Korean Peninsula and
constitute most of the underground materials, were selected, and three types of high explosives
were chosen. Next, the area where the selected underground materials were distributed was
analyzed to determine the test area that could represent the geological characteristics. The three
types of high explosives selected represent the characteristics of each high explosive for each
purpose, and design and production were carried out to perform actual detonation tests. Based
on this, detonation tests of explosive charges were performed in the test area for each selected
geological material. A measuring system was designed during the detonation test to measure
and analyze the pressure, blast vibration speed, and vibration acceleration at a certain distance
from the explosion point. The peak vector sum (PVS) for the peak particle velocity (PPV) for
each test was estimated using the distance-specific ground vibration speed acquired, and a
quadratic and cubic vibration equation was estimated to predict the blast vibration level. Based
on this, an algorithm was proposed to predict the destruction criteria based on the distance and
amount of explosives for each geological material. The proposed algorithm was built using
MATLAB to create GUI software, and the algorithm was validated. Through this study, the
proposed algorithm can be used to predict the destruction criteria caused by underground
explosions of explosives and to estimate the amounts of explosives required to suppress highvalue
targets.
각 시험 별 PPV(Peak Particle Velocity)에 대한 PVS(Peak Vector Sum)을 도출하여 발파 진동
