The increase of Blockchain-based projects and cryptocurrency adoption raise new challenges for audit firms, by driving changes within the audit practice. Based on a qualitative case study, this paper aims to evaluate the impact of Blockchain’s deployment on audit process and profession and underline their future outlooks. From a sample of seven expert interviews, our findings show that the process of auditing Blockchain assets requires the development of new technical tools and competencies. Audit professions are undergoing inevitable changes, shifting towards an advisory and IT-driven role. However, risks relative to security and regulations remain and bring uncertainties that call for prudency.
블록체인 기반 프로젝트의 증가와 암호화폐 채택은 감사 관행 내에서 변화를 주도함으로써 감사 회사에 새로운 과제를 제기한다. 본 논문은 정성적 사례 연구를 바탕으로 블록체인의 구축이 감사 프로세스와 전문성에 미치는 영향을 평가하고 향후 전망을 강조하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 7개의 전문가 인터뷰 샘플에서, 우리의 연구 결과는 블록체인 자산을 감사하는 과정에서 새로운 기술 도구와 역량의 개발이 필요하다는 것을 보여준다. 감사 전문가들은 피할 수 없는 변화를 겪으며 자문 및 IT 중심의 역할로 전환하고 있습니다. 그러나 보안 및 규제와 관련된 위험은 여전하며 신중함을 요구하는 불확실성을 초래한다.
