The rapid development of artificial intelligence technology has increased the applicability of AI, and firms are trying to introduce AI into their businesses. In order to maximize the benefits of adopting AI, it is important to understand the impact AI adoption on firm's innovation activities. Technology commercialization is one of the important firm's innovation activity, and rapid product development enables firms to increasing returns value technology invention. This study uses evidence from the pharmaceutical industry to examine the impact of the AI adoption on the speed of product development. Using double-difference analysis, this study found that the AI adoption in pharmaceutical firms shortened the time to product development, and this effect was found to be significant after 5 years. This study support for firms to make decisions to AI adoption by providing a empirical understanding of the impact of AI Adoption of firm's innovation activity.
인공지능 기술의 급격한 발전은 인공지능의 적용가능성을 높였고, 기업은 그들의 비즈니스에 인공지능을 도입하기 위해 노력하고 있다. 인공지능 도입의 이익을 극대화하기 위해서는, 인공지능 도입이 기업 혁신 활동에 미치는 영향을 이해하는 것이 중요하다. 제품 개발은 기업 혁신 활동 중 하나로, 신속한 제품 개발은 기업에게 기술 개발로부터 더 큰 가치를 만들어낼 수 있게 한다. 본 연구는 인공지능의 도입이 제품 개발의 속도에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 위해 제약산업의 증거를 사용한다. 이중차분분석을 통해 제약 기업의 인공지능 도입이 제품 개발 시간을 단축한다는 것을 발견했고 이러한 효과는 5년 이후부터 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 인공지능 도입이 기업의 혁신 활동에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 밝혀 기업의 인공지능 도입에 대한 의사결정을 돕는다.
