For reliable and sustainable service operations, managers have employed various approaches to support customer and service provider decisions, such as price (i.e., economic incentives, pricing policies) and nonprice approaches (i.e., real-time feedback, social comparison, moral appeals). In addition, recent innovation in artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and increased accessibility to large-scale data provides a chance to utilize algorithm-based approaches in daily service operations. Despite the previous literature examining the effects of these approaches on service consumers and providers in many contexts, studies remain incomplete as to what their mechanisms are, how they interact with each other, and how they may often result in undesirable consequences. In this dissertation, I call for a comprehensive understanding of the effects of price, information, and algorithm approaches on sustainable service operations.
안정적이고 지속 가능한 서비스 운영을 위해, 서비스 관리자들은 서비스 고객 및 제공자의 의사결정을 지원하기 위한 다양한 가격 (경제적 인센티브 제공, 가격 정책) 및 비가격 전략 (실시간 정보 제공, 사회적 비교 정보 제공, 도덕성에의 호소)을 발굴하고 적용해왔다. 이와 더불어, 최근에는 인공지능 기술 혁신과 빅데이터에 대한 접근성 증가로 인해 여러 서비스에 알고리즘 기반 전략이 적용되고 있는 추세이다. 지금까지 이러한 전략들에 대한 많은 학술 연구가 있었음에도 불구하고, 이 전략들의 작용 메커니즘이 무엇인지, 서로 어떤 상호 작용이 있는지, 어떤 예상치 못한 결과를 초래하는지에 대한 이해는 여전히 부족하다. 본 학위논문에서는 가격, 정보, 그리고 알고리즘 기반 전략들이 서비스 고객과 제공자의 의사결정에 미치는 영향에 대한 실증 근거를 제공함으로써 지속 가능 서비스 운영을 위한 다양한 전략들의 역할 및 활용법에 대한 시사점을 폭넓게 제공한다.
