We extend the study of optical metamaterials from the standard Structure-Property relations to include the fabrication process. First, we extend the standard Structure-Property optimization loop, that relies on computer generated simulation profiles and numerical simulations, to a complete Process-Structure-Property optimization loop, using generative neural networks to generate realistic simulation profiles for specific fabrication conditions. Second, we generate large scale experimental datasets, linking fabrication process to optical properties, to use for machine learning applications. Through these two contributions, we include the fabrication process into the design of optical metamaterials and the design process now takes place in the complete Process-Structure-Property-Performance system.
