A facial expression generating system which generates the user-defined facial expression has been designed and implemented. As the most previous systems are dependent on their specific facial models, they can not generate expressions of other facial models without a considerable manual modifications. Hence the system, named MiFegs(Model Independent Facial Expression Generating System) has been designed to facilitate the independency on the facial models. The MiFegs uses two model specific informations; the graphical information for rendering and the configurational information for deformation. As these informations are defined outside of the system, the MiFegs can generate the expressions of diverse facial models simultaneously without the system modification.
The system consists of three major components; the user interface module, the expression generating module, and the image rendering module. Since MiFegs is implemented based on general VR authoring toolkit, it can be used for other similar applications easily.
