ESG management is emerging as an important topic around the world. The analysis results of studies dealing with ESG and corporate management performance are not consistent, and studies analyzing the effect of corporate and consumer interaction are still insufficient. In this study, the relationship between ESG activities and financial performance of South Korean companies over the past four years was empirically analyzed using a fixed-effect panel data analysis. This study used returns representing investment performance in the market, ROA, an indicator of corporate profitability, and PBR showing the market value of the company for measuring corporate performance. In order to understand the moderating effects of interaction between companies and consumers, companies were classified into consumer goods and non-consumer goods industries. As a result of the study, the ESG integration grade showed a significant positive relationship with the company's return and market value. In particular, governance grade had a significant positive effect on returns, profitability, and market value. The consumer goods industry showed a significant moderating effect in terms of corporate profitability. It was confirmed that the environmental index was an important factor in the consumer goods industry and the social and governance index in the non-consumer goods industry.
