This study adopts the network analysis and a gravity model to observe the structure of global tourism flow and find different determinants that impact the flow by regions. From the network analysis, the study observed macro global flow structure remain static over years from degree distribution and centrality analysis. However, by partitioning the flow by groups with modularity and further investigating the difference between the groups, the study distinguished the static and volatile structure of the travel network. Thus, a gravity model is employed to assess the significant variables impacting the difference in behavior between communities and reveals there are different cultural determinants that impact global tourism flow by group of regions.
본 연구는 네트워크 분석과 그레비티 모형을 통하여 지역별로 국제 관광 수요에 미치는 영향이 어떻게 차이가 나는지 분석한다. 네트워크 분석을 통해 연도별 이동 구조와 노드의 중심성의 연관성을 연구해본 결과 국제 관광 이동 흐름의 기본 골격은 유지되는 것으로 것으로 확인된다. 하지만 커뮤니티 구조 (modularity)를 통해 이동 패턴을 그룹화시키고 그룹별 노드의 중심성 순위를 분석해본 결과, 큰 틀 안의 변수가 존재한 다는것을 확인 할 수 있다. 이를 심층 연구하기 위하여 그레비티 모형을 추가로 적용하였고 각 커뮤니티 지역 그룹별로 주요 변수들을 분석해본 결과, 여행지를 선택할 시 지역별로 다른 요소들이 작용된다는 것을 보여주며 문화적 요소들이 유의미하게 영향을 미친다는 점을 증명한다.
