This study analyzes the relationship between trading volume and expected return due to mispricing in the Korean stock market. As a result, the trading volume and expected return due to mispricing show a heterogeneous form, expected return is related to trading volume positively among underpriced stocks but negatively among overpriced stocks. This heterogeneous trading volume-return relationship is also significant when various trading volume variables are applied or factors affecting mispricing are controlled. From a behavioral finance perspective, it can be seen that investor disagreement amplifies mispricing when investors' average expectation is biased. Underpriced–minus-overpriced(UMO) portfolios are expected to be available for investment because the average return and alpha for each major factor model always outperform the entire portfolio and have positive values.
