Recently, hydrogen is considered as a environmental-friendly, sustainable energy carrier to replace fossil fuels. Transition metal derived catalysts, which show various surface properties and electronic structures are most promising materials for hydrogen evolution reaction. Herein, mixed cobalt precursor with graphene oxide solution was freeze-dried to synthesize small, uniformly distributed cobalt derived nanoparticles. Through heat treatment after freeze-drying, we fabricate CoS2 / rGO aerogel, CoP / rGO aerogel, CoSIP / rGO aerogel with uniformly distributed particle of 3.77 nm, 6.82 nm, 6.96 nm, respectively. CoSIP / rGO aerogel shows better activity than other cobalt derived particles / rGO aerogels by showing 0.128 mV overpotential at 2.5 mA/cm2 and Rct value of 12.22 Ω at EIS. And CoSIP / rGO aerogel shows not only higher activity but better stability than CoS2 / rGO aerogel by substitution of phosphorus into sulfur site.
