Increasing fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions due to increased energy demand cause serious climate change. Especially, carbon dioxide is the substance that accounts for the largest portion of greenhouse gases. Therefore, there are many efforts to develop methods that collect and convert waste carbon dioxide gases into value-added products. In addition, research to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by developing next-generation batteries which uses environmentally benign resources such as oxygen is also active. In this thesis, the design and \textit{in-situ} analysis of electrocatalysts for efficient energy conversion and storage of the electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction and non-aqueous lithium-oxygen batteries are discussed. In this research, ultra-thin layered copper was uniformly covered on the entire surface of the porous silver metal framework structure by the pulse electrodeposition method. The manufactured catalyst has high activity and selectivity towards ethanol at moderate overpotential when it was applied to the electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction. Next, charging and discharging processes of non-aqueous lithium-oxygen batteries with various catalysts and metal electrodes were analyzed through the in-situ quantitative gas analysis using online electrochemical mass spectrometry for a better understanding of underlying electrochemical reactions. Through the \textit{in-situ} quantitative gas analysis, we could understand the reason for side reactions occurring in lithium-oxygen batteries.
