The main objectives of thesis are as follow : 1) analyzing the technology transfer trend within a company, 2) analyzing determinants of technology transfer within a company and 3) examining the relationship between the trend and determinants by performing statistical analysis and case analysis based on R＆D projects during a six-year period of a corporate R＆D center.
The trend of technology transfer within a company can be sub-divided as within-department technology transfer and inter-department technology transfer. Moreover, within-department technology transfer can be sequential, equal-stage or reverse.
The analysis of determinants of technology transfer within a company was made by considering factors such as technological characteristics, organizational chracteristics and characteristics of circumstances. The grounds for evaluating the performance of technology transfer within a company were 1)whether or not they took place and 2) how efficient they were.
Statistical analysis suggests that key factors such as completeness of the technology, innovation level of the technology, attention and support from the top management, coordination between the provider and the reciever, and the competitiveness of the technology are necessary for successful technology transfer. According to case studies, it was concluded that there had to be a key determinant for either successful or unsuccessful technology transfers. And successful technology transfer cases involved more success determinants than unsuccessful determinants and vice versa.
In addition, a guideline for successful technology transfer based on the thesis results is presented.
본 연구의 목적은 1) 사내 기술이전 유형의 파악, 2) 사내 기술이전의 연향요인 파악, 3) 사내 기술이전의 유형, 영향요인과 성과간의 관계에 대한 파악에 있었다. 이러한 관점에서 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 사내 기술이전의 유형은 현실적인 관점으로 볼 때, 부문간 기술 이전과 부문내 기술이전의 유형으로 분류할 수 있으며, 부문내 기술이전은 선형적 기술혁신 과정상의 순차적 기술이전과 동일단계 기술이전 그리고 역향적 기술이전으로 분류할 수 있다. 이것은 현실적인 사내 기술이전이 규범적인 형태에서는 다소 벗어나는 일이 있다는 것이다.
둘째, 통계적 분석에 의한 사내기술이전의 영향요인을 보면, 기술적 완성도가 높을수록, 기술파급도가 높을수록, 최고책임자의 관심과 지원이 높을수록, 기술이전 공급자와 수용자의 통합정도가 높을수록 그리고 외부의 경쟁이 치열 할수록 기술이전의 1차적 성과가 높게 나타났다.
셋째, 사내 기술이전의 사례분석을 통하여, 기술이전 성공의 경우나 실패의 경우에 그 핵심요인이 존재하며, 이 핵심요인이 다른 요인을 압도하는 것으로 나타났다.
네째, 사례분석을 통하여, 기술이전 성공의 경우는 성공요인의 수가 실패 요인의 수보다 많으며 실패의 경우는 그 반대로 됨을 알 수 있었다.
다섯째, 사례분석 결과 본 연구에서 고려한 모든 영향요인이 기술이전의 설공/실패에 영향을 주며, 특히 기술의 파급효과와 외부의 지원자는 주로 기술이전의 성공요인으로 작용하고, 기술 신뢰성과 시장크기는 주로 실패요인으로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다.
