With the rising importance of employee self-service information technology (SSIT) like RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and SSBI (Self-Service Business Intelligence), understanding employees’ behavioral dynamics as the innovation consumers has become important. This research explores the dynamics in the framework of Prospect Theory and Innovation Resistance Theory based on an in-depth case study. The research findings show that, when non-IT employees are given the SSITs implementation related KPIs, which are new and unfamiliar to them, and the business operations related KPIs concurrently in the business environment where employees perceive the latter is highly achievable, the employees resist to adopt SSITs. They prioritize the latter and postpone / oppose the pursuit of the former out of certainty effect and risk aversion tendency. If an extraneous factor deteriorates the business environment in which the achievability for the business operations related KPIs drops, the employees start pursuing the SSITs related KPIs out of risk-seeking and loss aversion tendency.
RPA (Robotic Process Automation), SSBI (Self-Service Business Intelligence)와 같은 실무자들을 중심으로 한 사용자 주도 정보기술(SSIT)의 대두와 함께, 혁신제품들의 소비자로서 실무자들의 행동양식을 이해하는 것 또한 중요해지고 있다. 본 연구는 심도 있는 사례연구를 통해 전망이론과 혁신저항이론을 기반으로 혁신제품의 수용자로서 실무자들의 혁신저항을 이해하고자 한다. 연구결과에 따르면 비 IT부문 실무자들이 SSIT 도입과 관련된 낯선 KPI와 달성가능성이 높은 기존 KPI를 병행할 경우, 확실성 효과와 위험회피에 따라 SSIT 관련 목표보다는 기존 KPI를 우선하는 동시에 SSIT 도입관련 KPI 추구를 지연하는 방식으로 저항한다. 이 때 기존 KPI의 달성이 불투명해질 경우, 위험추구와 손해회피성향에 따라 SSIT와 관련된 KPI를 추구하는 경향성을 보인다.
