By development on mobile devices like smartphone, the population that can access online has been increased, making more convenient for users to store data online than local storage device. Therefore companies like Google and Amazon are expanding and additionally building data centers to satisfy the increased online storage needs. The impact of online data usage on environment is not intuitive for the general public in comparison with environmental activities like recycling. In this study, we have analyzed the public's perception on email data and its impact on the environment and designed an experiment that analyze the effect of intervention and providing information on email usage behavior.
스마트폰 등의 휴대기기의 발달로 인해 인터넷에 언제든지 접속할 수 있는 인구가 늘어나게 되면서, 로컬 저장장치보다 클라우드에 데이터를 저장해 두는 것이 사용자에게 간편하게 되었다. 이에 따라 구글이나 아마존과 같은 기업에서는 늘어난 클라우드 저장소 수요를 충당하기 위하여 데이터 센터를 확장, 추가 건설하고 있다. 인터넷 데이터 사용의 환경에 대한 영향은 재활용과 같은 환경 활동에 비해 사용자에게 직관적으로 인식시키기 힘들다. 본 학위논문에서는 대중의 이메일 데이터와 환경의 상관 관계에 대한 인식을 분석하고, 지속적인 정보 제공과 외부 개입에 따른 이메일의 사용 성향 변화를 분석할 수 있는 실험을 계획한다.
