This study newly proposes an exoskeleton control system using interaction force feedback. This control method is motivated by the fact that the exoskeleton robot and its wearer physically interact by the force and that this interaction force depends on the controller used. It means that any desired interaction forces on the wearer existing in the literature can be delivered by 1) robustly controlling the interaction force as an output and 2) defining the purpose-depending references. From this point of view, this study shows that various existing exoskeleton controls can be expressed with one classic feedback control system. To this end, the proposed method consists of the force feedback control loop and the reference generation loop. The proposed method is applied to the exoskeletons, and the control systems are designed according to the conventional control design process. For the sake of simplicity, the PID control is used to control each system, and the performance of the control system is verified by experiments. In addition, several references are designed as examples, and the actual effects on the wearer are compared and analyzed.
