Palladium is widely used as a sensing material for hydrogen gas ($H_2$), and $H_2$ sensors using palladium resistor have great advantages in reaction at room temperature and high selectivity. However, there is a problem of durability leading to material failure due to a large volume expansion at the time of high concentration $H_2$ exposure. In addition, the slow response rate consuming several-hundred seconds is also a critical issue for Pd resistive $H_2$ sensors. In this study, we proposed and verified an approach to improve the lifetime and response rate against high concentration $H_2$ exposure by applying nanostructure to palladium.
