Anxiety and depression are the most prevalent psychiatric disorder in human. In spite of these relativeness, decision making deficits in the patients remain unclear. We aimed to characterize behavioral and neural mechanisms under decision making related to own monetary outcomes only and under decision making related to social aspects as well as own monetary outcomes in patients with anxiety and depression. First, we investigated behavioral characteristics of aversion to risk and loss in patients with the psychiatric disorder and healthy controls. Next, we investigated behavioral characteristics of reciprocation according to confliction level in patients with the psychiatric disorder and healthy controls. In addition, we measured brain activities using fMRI to elucidate neural substrates of the decision making according to the behaviors in non-clinical subjects. We found that the patients had higher loss aversion and risk aversion in loss than the healthy subjects. The patients had correlation between loss aversion and risk aversion in gain, but the healthy subjects did not. In the healthy subjects, the females had higher loss aversion than the males, but the patients had no gender difference in the behaviors. Anxiety and depression scores had positive correlation with loss aversion. Brain regions implicated in subjective values that reported from previous studies were observed again and brain regions related to behavioral choice were observed. We found that the patients had higher reciprocation than the healthy subjects. In the patients, the males had higher reciprocation than the females, but the healthy subjects had no gender difference in the behaviors. Prosociality and Honesty/Humility had positive correlation with reciprocation. Groups divided by incentive delay tasks had different reciprocation according to their sensitivities to social and economic stimuli. Brain regions implicated to each decision phases of reciprocation and the regions related to confliction in reciprocation choice were observed. The present study demonstrated behavioral and neural mechanisms of economic decision making and social decision making between the patients and healthy participants. Our study provides advanced understanding of human decision making and provides insights in to the clinical usage of the behavioral and neuroimaging assessments based on a neuroeconomics framework for the diagnosis and prognosis of psychiatric disorders.
불안증과 우울증은 인간에게 가장 흔한 정신 질환입니다. 이러한 점에도 불구하고 해당 환자의 의사 결정 장애는 잘 연구되지 않았습니다. 우리는 불안증과 우울증 환자에서 자신의 금전적 결과에만 관련된 의사 결정과 자신의 금전적 결과뿐만 아니라 사회적 요소까지 고려애햐 햐는 의사 결정의 행동 및 신경 메커니즘을 특성화하는 것을 목표로했습니다. 첫째, 환자군과 정상인 대조군의 위험 회피와 손실 회피의 행동 특성을 연구했습니다. 다음으로, 환자군과 정상인 대조군의 갈등 수준에 따른 보답의 행동 특성을 연구했습니다. 또한, 행동에 따른 의사 결정의 신경 기질을 밝히기 위해 fMRI를 사용하여 뇌 활동을 측정했습니다. 환자군은 정상인 대조군보다 위험 회피와 손실 회피가 더 높은 것으로 나타났습니다. 환자는 손실 회피와 위험 회피 사이의 상관 관계가 있었지만 정상인 대조군은 그렇지 않았습니다. 정상인 대조군에서 여성은 남성보다 손실 회피가 더 높았지만 환자군에는 성별 차이가 없었습니다. 불안과 우울증 점수는 손실 회피와 양의 상관 관계를 가졌습니다. 이전 연구들에서 관찰된 주관적인 값의 처리에 관여된 두뇌 영역의 활성이 이 연구에서도 관찰되었으며, 추가적으로 선택에 따른 두뇌 영역이 관찰되었습니다. 우리는 환자군이 정상인 대조군보다 더 높은 보답 행동을 보인다는 것을 관찰했습니다. 환자군에서 남성은 여성보다 보답이 높았지만 정상인 대조군은 행동에 성별 차이가 없었습니다. 친사회성과 정직/겸손은 보답 행동과 양의 상관 관계를 가졌습니다. 인센티브 지연 과제로 나눈 그룹은 사회적 및 경제적 자극에 대한 민감도에 따라 다른 보답 행동을 가졌습니다. 보답 행동의 각 결정 단계에 연루된 뇌 영역과 보답 행동 선택에서 갈등 수준과 관련된 영역이 관찰되었습니다. 이 연구는 환자군과 정상인 대조군 사이의 경제적 의사 결정과 사회적 의사 결정의 행동 및 신경 메커니즘을 보여주었습니다. 우리의 연구는 인간의 의사 결정에 대한 진보된 이해를 제공하고, 신경 경제학적 프레임 워크를 기반으로 한 행동 및 뇌영상이 정신 질환의 진단 및 예후 등의 임상 사용에 대한 통찰력을 제공합니다.
