The search engine Daum has been providing news for more than 10 years. News articles are provided in the form of 'News View' and 'Photo Gallery', which are the most exposed to users in the followed by news services. In the meantime, portal news has been mainly studied in terms of news editing and journalism, and there have been few studies on service screen configuration or user's screen usage behavior. Daum has made a full reorganization of the 'Photo Gallery' screen, which exposes photo-type articles in the way of providing articles in April 2019, and this study is to compare and analyze the usability of this reorganization. Mainly, we have identified significant results by analyzing page views, click-by-door click ratios, and page inflow path indicators before and after the reorganization, which will be used as data for improving the usability of mobile news screens and improving services.
포털사이트 다음(Daum)은 10년 넘게 뉴스를 서비스하고 있다. 뉴스 기사는 다음의 규격화된 페이지인 '기사뷰' 와 '포토 갤러리' 형태로 제공되고 있으며 이 페이지들은 다음 뉴스 서비스에서 사용자들에게 가장 많이 노출되는 화면이다. 그 동안 포털 뉴스는 주로 뉴스 편집 방식과 저널리즘적 측면에서 연구되어 왔으며 서비스 화면 구성 또는 사용자의 화면 이용 행태에 관한 연구는 많지 않았다. 다음은 2019년 4월 기사를 제공하는 방식 중 포토 유형의 기사를 노출하는 '포토갤러리' 화면의 전면 개편을 진행했으며 본 연구는 이 개편을 통해 나타나는 전후 사용성을 비교 분석하고자 한다. 주요하게는 개편 전후 세션 당 페이지뷰, 영역 별 클릭 비율, 페이지 유입경로 지표를 분석함으로써 유의미한 결과를 확인했으며 이는 앞으로 모바일 뉴스 화면의 사용성 향상과 서비스 개선을 위한 자료로 활용 될 수 있을 것이다.
