This study analyzes the impact of uncertainty in monetary policy on bank lending from 1985 to 2017. The main results are as follows: First, the higher the uncertainty of monetary policy, the lower the bank's lending. This is due to the bank's profit structure and risk avoidance propensity. Second, it appears that small banks make more loans than large banks when currency policy uncertainty is high. This study suggests that an increase in the uncertainty of monetary policy can lead to a decrease in bank lending, which is not significant in small banks with low relative financial dependence.
