The recent social issue of cryptocurrency investment has become a worldwide phenomenon, and continuous investment is taking place amid a series of controversies over the trading. As a product of investment, bitcoin has many aspects that are in line with the various theories and empirical studies of ordinary capital markets. However, it is also characterized as 24x7 operation of its trading that are widely spread around the world and is widely linked to variety of cryptocurrency exchanges. Due to the nature of this bitcoin, the possibility of bitcoin arbitrage trading has been arose. In this study, the paper analyzed the differences and interrelationships between the bitcoin prices based on daily, 30-minute and 10-minute data was traded in the United States, Europe and East Asia. This empirical analysis confirms that bitcoin arbitrage trading is possible, and proves that if we set arbitrage trading model based on 30-minute price data, then we can build a fairly high-confidence price tracking model.
최근 암호화폐투자에 대한 사회적 이슈는 전 세계적인 현상이 되었으며 암호화폐거래에 대한 논란이 이어지는 와중에도 지속적인 투자가 이루어지고 있다. 투자의 대상으로서 비트코인은 기존 자본시장의 다양한 이론 및 실증적 연구와 일맥상통하는 부분이 많았지만, 24시간 연중무휴 운영과 전세계 널리 퍼져있는 다양한 거래소들 간의 독립적이지만 상호 연결된 특이성에서 비트코인 만의 독특한 차익거래의 유인이 생겨나게 된다. 본 연구에서는 미국, 유럽, 그리고 아시아의 대표적인 암호화폐거래소에서 거래되는 비트코인 가격을 일별, 30분별, 10분별 데이터를 토대로 지역별 비트코인 가격 간의 차이와 상호연관성을 분석했다. 이런 실증적 분석을 통해 비트코인 차익거래는 가능함을 확인했고 차익거래모델을 30분 가격데이터를 바탕으로 설정한다면 상당히 높은 신뢰 수준의 가격 추적 모형을 만들어 낼 수 있음을 입증했다.
