Photos taken using a smartphone are very handy and easily accessible. The camera function, basic to every current-age smartphone, allows users to capture and store a large number of photos but also requires the potentially tedious task of selecting memorable photos from the plethora of photos they have taken. In our study, we developed a machine learning classifier that automatically identifies “memorable” photos using sensors. In order to identify memorable photos, we developed a 12-item questionnaire. For collecting sensory data, we utilized an Android smartphone and Microsoft smart band. Our results showed that memorable photos can be automatically identified at an accuracy of 0.775. Our machine learning classifier can be applied to a photo album using a preview window to select a representative photo as well as a photo recommendation system for uploading it to a SNS. This classifier will also be able to produce a slide show video using recommended memorable photos.
최근 스마트폰은 카메라가 기본으로 장착되어 있어 사진 촬영이 간편하다. 따라서 촬영되는 사진 양이 증 가하게 되어 원하는 사진들만 따로 분류시 사진 정리에 많은 불편을 겪고 있다. 본 연구에서는 SNS공유나 추억의 사진을 쉽게 선별할 수 있도록 센서 데이터를 기반으로 기억에 남는 사진을 자동으로 분류할 수 있는 기술을 연구하였다. 사진의 추억 정도를 측정하고자 설문을 활용하였고 감동적인 순간의 움직임을 포착할 수 있는 센서 데이터를 수집하기 위해 스마트폰과 스마트 밴드를 활용하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 분류모 델은 77.5%의 정확도로 기억에 남는 사진을 선별할 수 있었다. 본 연구결과는 사진관리 앱에서 앨범 별로 미리보기 대표사진을 선정하거나 SNS에 사진을 올릴 때 첨부하고 싶은 사진 추천시스템에 활용이 가능하며 또한 추억 사진을 추천하여 슬라이드쇼 영상제작에 활용이 가능하다.
