Show-in-Use is the system previews use experience through personal avatars. Previous shopping platforms mostly provide the product-oriented information, in this research, we provide the user-oriented and life-oriented shopping system through providing use experience to users. I focus on the sofa purchasing experience and conduct two user studies to figure out and export the use experience of the product. The system is developed with three keywords, product, avatar, and use experience, and the user evaluation study is conducted to evaluate the developed system. As a result, I find out that the thinking process of users was changed from object-centered to experience-centered. Moreover, users have empathy to virtual avatars from experiential factors, not only appearance factors. I finally suggest the guidelines for further shopping platforms with Show-in-Use system, and also the role of the system in the customized design area and augmented reality environment.
본 연구에서는 가상 아바타를 활용하여 제품의 사용 경험을 재현하는 쇼핑 디자인 시스템을 제안한다. 기존의 쇼핑 플랫폼들은 제품-중심의 정보를 제공함에 그쳤으나, 경험 정보를 사용자에게 제공함으로써 사용자-중심 및 일상 중심의 쇼핑 플랫폼을 제안한다. 본 연구에서는 소파 구매 경험을 중심으로 시스템을 개발하였으며, 해당 제품의 사용 경험을 도출 및 재현을 위하여 2개의 유저 스터디 및 모션 캡쳐 를 진행하였다. 제품, 아바타, 사용 경험을 중심으로 시스템이 개발되었으며, 본 시스템을 평가하기 위하여 총 12 명의 피험자가 참여한 사용자 평가 스터디를 진행하였다. 그 결과, 제품 구매 결정 과정에서의 사용자 사고 과정이 제품 중심에서 경험 중심으로 변화하는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 사용자들이 가상의 아바타에게 자신을 대입하며, 아바타의 외형적 요소가 아닌 경험적 요소로써 본인 혹은 타인을 인식함을 확인하였다. 이를 토대로 본 연구에서는 추후 다른 쇼핑 플랫폼에서의 시스템 적용을 위한 가이드라인을 제안한다. 또한, 현재의 가상 공간에서 벗어나 현실 공간까지 확장 가능한 증강 현실 기반 쇼핑 플랫폼에서의 역할을 제안한다.
