The proportion of elderly pedestrians among traffic accident fatalities in Seoul is 72% in 2016, which is very high compared to the national average. In addition, the Korean society including Seoul is aging, and the number of elderly road users is increasing. In this study, the crash injury severity of elderly pedestrians in Seoul was investigated by using a multinomial logit model. Moreover, the age group of the elderly was divided into 65 - 74 years old and over 75 years old, and the difference between the two age groups was intensively examined. Factors such as pedestrian age, sex, injured vehicle, pedestrian position, time of day were related to the severity of injury, and there was a clear difference between the younger-old and older-old age groups.
서울시의 교통사고 사망자 중 고령 보행자 비율은 2016년 72%로 전국에 비해 굉장히 높은 실정이다. 또한 서울을 비롯한 한국 사회는 고령화되고 있으며, 이에 따라 고령 도로 사용자는 점점 늘어나고 있다. 이 연구에서는 서울시의 노인 보행자의 교통사고 부상 심각도를 다항로짓모델을 통해 분석하여 부상심각도와 연관된 요인을 알아보고자 하였다. 또한, 노인 연령 구분을 기존 65세이상에서, 65-74세와 75세 이상으로 세분화하여 두 연령 집단간의 차이를 집중적으로 조사하였다. 보행자의 나이, 성별, 가해차량, 사고시 보행자 위치, 시간대 등의 요인이 부상심각도와 연관이 있었고, 세분화된 노인 연령 집단 간에도 명확한 차이가 존재하였다.
