This article implements a Bayesian approach to predict Korean male mortality rates and calculate actuarial present value of whole life insurance and annuity under these forecasts. In order to reflect improvement in predicting mortality rates, this paper formalizes the Lee-Carter method. This approach, proposed by Pedroza(2006), use the Markov chain Monte Carlo method to fit the model. Mortality forecasts are based on Korean male life tables from the period 1982-2014. Results show that estimated parameters do not demonstrate significant differences between the Bayesian and Lee-Carter approaches, however, the Lee-Carter method underestimates prediction intervals. Result from the Bayesian approach shows that prediction intervals are appropriately wider than those obtained from the Lee-Carter method. This shows that Bayesian approach is better suited to the observed data.
본 연구는 베이지안을 활용하여 한국 남성의 장래사망률을 추정하고, 추정된 사망률 하에서의 보험 수리적 현가를 분석하였다. 평균 수명이 늘어나는 추세를 반영하기 위해 전통적인 Lee-Carter 모델의 수식을 사용 하였고 모수 추정 방식에서는 Pedroza(2006)에서 제안된 Markov chain Monte Carlo 방식을 사용하였다. 장래 사망률은 1982년도에서 2014년까지의 한국 남성의 생명표를 사용하여 추정 하였다. 베이지안을 통해 추정된 장래 사망률의 차이는 기존의 Lee-Carter 모델과 크게 다르지 않았지만 기존 모델에서 신뢰구간을 과소평가하던 부분을 베이지안 방식은 더 넓게 예측해 기존 모델의 문제점을 해결할 수 있었다. 추정된 사망률을 통해 사망률 개선에 따른 종신보험과 거치 종신연금의 책임준비금 변화를 분석했고 보험 사에 부채에 어떤 영향을 주는지 논의 하였다.
