This research finds that an individual’s perceived persuasiveness of a product’s review mediates the interaction effects between an agent(expert vs. novice) and purchase types(material vs. experiential) on the product attitude. Specifically, when the purchase type is materialistic, the mediating path is significant. However, when the purchase type is experiential, the indirect path becomes insignificant.
