In this thesis a active addressing controller for STN LCD is designed and implemented using EPLD's. The designed active addressing controller uses new row functions(row function A,B) which are generated by using 16×16 Walsh function. The proposed algorithm using the new row functions greatly reduces the amount of computation. The detail explanation of the signal processing technique using the proposed algorithm are given. We have built a 320×240, 16gray, video rate STN prototype display using the proposed algorithm. The designed architecture of controller is given. This design firstly verified via computer simulation. The functionality of EPLD's are extensively verified using Logic Analyzer.
