In this thesis, we designed and implemented the H/W for resolution enhancement board for LBP(Laser Beam Printer) to increase the resolution twice(1200×1200 DPI) using CANON LBP-BX with 600x600 DPI Engine. The system was implemented as a double size PC/AT application board which consists of printer interface block, image storage block, resolution transformation block and video output block. The realized algorithm for this board is called RET(Resolution Enhancement Technique), which involves the characteristics like no modification of beam sweep rate and paper motion rate, no change of print engine, minor change of controller, and modulation of video signal. The whole system for experiment consists of three PC add on cards, two cards out of them are LBP boards for video signal generation, and the other card is RET board for the resolution enhancement.
