This paper is aimed to develope an optical measurement method on 3-dimensional shapes of specular objects having curved surfaces.
The exsiting methods measuring the shapes of specular objects have several common disadvantages for which many light sources and many sensors have to bo adopted. To overcome these disadvantages, the measurements by a single light source and a single sensor by using the double pass retroreflection method is proposed in this paper.
For this purpose, an appropriate experimental measuring system is designed and prepared which is composed of galvanometric scanner, beam splitter, laser, CCD camera and so on. And, in order to ensure the accurate light path, the alignment and calibration of the each components also performed.
From the measurement system, fundamental expriments on measuring several specular objects, and the results are observed and discussed.
