This paper addresses the practical finite element analysis of the thermoelasto-plastic problem of the anisotropic materials. For the plastic analysis of the anisotropic materials, Hill theory is used. Tangent-Cutting-Plane method is used for linearizing the nonlinear equations. The study is restricted to infinitesimal deformation range of the materials.
Numerical examples are solved for the verifications of the finite element code developed. As a practical problem, the behavior of the ATJ-graphite rocket nozzle throat which is exposed to flow of high temperature gas, is analyzed. Transient heat transfer analysis is carried out to get the temperature profiles of the nozzle-throat. The results are used as input to the successful analysis of the behavior of the throat.
