A class-C VHF Power Amplifier for FM armature satellite communication in the frequency of 145.9MHz is designed and implemented by using a RF Power Bipolar Transistor. The power gain of the implemented amplifier is 10db and collector efficiency 65% at 145.9Mhz and output power 36dbm (4Watts). The design rule of class-C amplifier is based on the large signal analysis. It is shown that both collector efficiency and power gain may be calculated as a function of the input level and the load impedance and that optimum design is needed to have more efficient amplifier. Also, -23db 4W Attenuator for high power measurements at 145MHz frequency range is designed and fabricated.
