Single photon sources are key components for various quantum information processings. For practical quantum applications, bright single photon sources with efficient fiber-optical interfaces are highly required. In this work, we report bright fiber-coupled single photon sources based on microfiber-microcavity system embedding InAs quantum dots. Exploiting evanescent coupling between the microfiber and the microcavities, single photons are directly collected into optical fiber. Two different photonic crystal cavities are utilized as microcavities. First, widely-used photonic crystal three-cell (L3) nanocavity is employed. We achieved brightness of 23% and Purcell-enhanced spontaneous emissions. The spectral position of the cavity resonance is also tuned by as much as 1.5 nm by adjusting the contact position of the microfiber, which increases the spectral coupling probability between the QD and the cavity resonances. Taking advantage of the high photon count rate and the tunability, the collection efficiencies and the decay rates are systematically investigated as a function of the QD-cavity detuning. Moving towards brighter fiber-coupled single photon source, microcavity design is changed into waveguide-like linear photonic crystal cavity whose length is thirteen times lattice constant. One of the modes of the linear cavity whose k-vector is similar to that of the microfiber mode is utilized. Consequently, fiber coupling efficiency of 90% (76%) is obtained by numerical simulation (transmission measurement). From the single photon generation experiment, a raw count rate of 1.81 MHz is achieved. After multiphoton correction with $g^{(2)}$(0) value, single photons of 1.33 MHz (32 MHz) is detected (collected), and the corresponding brightness of 40% is obtained based on the fiber coupling efficiency of 58%. This microfiber-microcavity system provides a promising route for efficient direct fiber collections of single photons for quantum information processing.
