Estimation of fracture toughness of materials is very important for prevention of unstable fracture. In this study, database of fracture toughness of various materials was constructed using dBASE Ⅲ PLUS software for personal computer. The data were collected mainly from published papers in foreign and domestic journals and the number of data is about 1030. The database constructed has the functions of appending, updating, searching and analyzing data. Utilizing the database, the dependence of fracture toughness on temperature and yield strength was investigated and the statistical distribution characteristic of fracture toughness was also discussed.
