Design errors found in part geometry and time delay for correcting those errors are major problems in developing the consumer electronic products. Suggested in this thesis to overcome those problems is 'product model centered CAD/CAM' approach.
This study deals with (1) analyzing the functional requirements of product modeling system and (2) proposing the modeling scheme-modeling procedure and model itself in both description and representation.
In requirement analysis, I/O's required for application shells are listed, and from them requirements of the core modeler are drived.
To develop the product modeling scheme, parts themselves and their form features are classified for the sake of descriptive and representational convinience.
