A new approach to realizing zero voltage switching in high frequency DC/DC converter is proposed in this thesis. It is that device and component stresses are low and control scheme is simple compared to other resonant converters. Its switching operation occurs at voltage zero crossing point, which results in nearly zero device switching loss, reliable high frequency operation and low EMI. Hence the system size and weight can be reduced due to high frequency operation.
The simplified model of proposed converter is suggested and verified through anlysis and experiment. Analysis is discussed in detail and is experimentally verified with 150[W] prototype converter operating in the frequency range 200[KHZ]-1[MHz].
