This thesis has the purpose to develop models that explain demand forecast of technical manpower in electric and electronics industries. These models are constructed by stepwise regression procedures. The procedure is performed using data economic index data, e.g. GNP, annual cost of R & D, and annual cost of technology Transfer etc. These models are developed based upon by degrees (Doctor, Master, and Bachelor) and sectors (industry, research institute, and education institute). Each model can be selected by the preference of users among several models based upon similar values of $R^2$. We can know the demand forecast of manpower through these models. The supply forecast of manpower is made using graduate numbers from academic institute.
The results of these models and supply forecast of manpower are applied to analyze the demand and supply of technical manpower in electric and electronic industries. And these results can also be applied to the evaluation the educational investment.
