Many decision problems have uncertainty and complexity in the real world. In many cases, the decision maker does not have decision-analytic knowledge enough to solve the given decision problem.
For the initial modelling of decision problems, influence diagram may be a best tool for crossing the bridge from the original opaque situation in the decision maker's mind to a clear and crisp decision basis. Decision Analysis Cycle is a useful tool that structures and analyzes the decision problem with uncertainty and complexity. It is composed of three phases, deterministic phase, probabilitic phase and information phase. This thesis developes the system that structures a decision problem into decision tree using influence diagram and analyze the decision problem using Decision Analysis Cycle. And to discretize a piecewice linear probability distribution which describes the uncertainty of aleatory variable, three points representatives are used in the development.
Thus, the purpose of this study is to develope a DSS system to implement a Decision Analysis Cycle using Lotus 1-2-3(DACUL). The system has been developed in IBM XT/AT compatable personal computer.
