Conical-skirt monopole antenna was designed for the resonant scattering by an underground cavity in microwave frequency and analyzed numerically.
This paper presents an overview of the conical-skirt monopole antenna. The operating frequency range is so wide from 8Ghz to 12Ghz, that is very difficult to achieve good impedance maching. The VSWR value is less then 2.2 in the operating frequency in free space.
A main idea for analysing this antenna is based on the wire-grid modeling technique. Transmitting and receiving antenna are 20 Cm apart and using this antenna, the total field scatted by cavity are measured at frequency of 8.8Ghz, 9.2Ghz, 11.5Ghz.
