Firms are accelerating to adopt the knowledge management and to establish the knowledge man-agement System(KMS) and CoP (Community of Practice) in order to effectively manage the knowledge that can be the source of their competitiveness. The purpose of this paper is to examine which charac-teristic of CoP influence knowledge sharing in Knowledge Management System. In this thesis, real KMS data collected from Korean IT Service company are analyzed for organizational and activated attributes of CoP. For empirical validation, by analyzing 135 samples of CoPs in a Korean IT Services company, the study found that the existence organizational and activated characteristics of Cop which affected knowledge sharing activities in KMS. Research model and related hypotheses were tested using Multi Regression Analysis. As a result of data analysis, Knowledge sharing is significantly influenced by those Characteristics of CoP such as size, passion of leader, operation period. This study is expected to provide a sound basis for exploring ways to effectively enhancing knowledge activity in KMS through supporting the strategic CoP in organizations.
많은 기업들이 지식경영의 전략적 도구로 CoP와 지식경영시스템을 도입하였지만, 구성원들의 참여와 지식활동이 지속되지 못하는 어려움이 있다. 본 연구를 통해 Delone and McLean(2003) 정보시스템성공모형을 기반으로 지식경영시스템 내 지식 공유 활동의 영향 요인이 되는 CoP 특성을 도출하여 CoP 육성방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 국내 IT 서비스 기업 1곳을 대상으로 총 135개의 CoP 실 데이터를 수집하여 다중회귀 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 지식경영시스템 내 지식 활용 활동은 운영기간, CoP 규모, 리더의 열정 3가지 특성이, 지식 등록 활동은 운영기간, 리더의 열정 2가지 특성이 유의미한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 예상과는 달리 업무 연관 수준과 구성원의 다양성 수준, 전략적 지원 수준은 유의하지 않는 것으로 나타나 이에 대한 고찰이 필요하다. 본 연구 결과를 통해서 CoP 특성에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히고 CoP에서 지식경영시스템으로 이어지는 지식경영 성과 도출 기반을 마련함으로써, 지식경영 활성화에 도움이 될 것이다.
