A numerical analysis of the flow field around the vortex generators in the boundary layer over the infinite flat plate had been carried out using the nonlinear vortex lattice method. The effects of the nouniformity of free stream velocity profile and the multiplicity of the vortex generators were calculated to compare the aerodynamic properties with the corresponding normal single vortex generator, uniform flow cases.
Comparing with the corresponding normal cases, the nonuniformity had shown same effects on the lift coefficient, the drag coefficient and the dimensionless tip vortex strength independent of angle of attack and aspect ratio of vortex generators. For the same way, the resultant effects of the nonuniformity and the multiplicity could be obtained by the simple product of each effects.
